We start with power, wall control, remotes and any model-specific error codes. We then check the door balance and mechanical hardware: a broken spring or cable can look like an opener failure. Only after those checks do we assess the motor, logic board, gear and sprocket assembly, belt or chain, and travel settings.
Persistent photo-eye problems have their own garage door sensor repair service. Broken lifting hardware is covered by our spring repair and cable repair services.
Repair or replace the opener?
The decision depends on the fault, compatible parts, safety features and condition of the existing unit. We give you a repair quote before work and explain when replacement is the more practical option.

Safe checks before calling
Check that power is available, the remote battery is working and the sensor beam is clear. Follow the manual for your exact opener. Stop if the door is crooked, very heavy, has a visible broken spring or damaged cable. Never bypass the safety sensors, and do not release an open door that may have a spring fault.
Repair appointments and warranty
We take calls 8 am–8 pm, seven days a week. Same-day appointments depend on availability. Repair parts supplied by TrueFix carry a one-year warranty and workmanship a six-month warranty, subject to our written warranty terms.
